Thursday July 4 @ 9:00 Deckers Creek Rail Trail
( * ½) 25 miles From Sabraton Plaza (CVS pharmacy, Auto Zone, Rio Grande, etc) Meet along the trail behind the shopping center. The trail has a good hard packed surface suitable for road bikes. It climbs steadily away from Morgantown toward Masontown and flattens out as it goes on to Reedsville. There are some very pretty spots along the creek and also some interesting old coke ovens. The return is all downhill Lunch at the Rio Grande.

Friday August 2 To Monday August 5 Highland Inn Weekend with Al & Fern
Meet at the Highland Inn at Monterey Virginia at noon Friday We will have some lunch and take an afternoon ride. Longer rides on Saturday and Sunday, a shorter ride on Monday. Monterey is located in the most sparsely populated county of Virginia. With good roads, little traffic, and wonderful scenery this is road biking heaven. A century ride is possible but most of us will ride a little less and enjoy it a lot more. There are several good routes to choose from. There are a couple of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The inn has a nice restaurant and a tavern, too. There is a big front porch to relax on. Make reservations early. 540-468-2143 AARP members ask for a discount Rates include continental breakfast Alternative lodgings are also available nearby.
